IN CONVERSATION / THE FOUNDERS
Sheila and Silvia.
Water is the beginning.
The name, the drop and the lotus, the colors. Behind every Aquelia decision is a shared idea about how the founders want to build their brand.
TWO PATHS / ONE SHARED IDENTITYWhat did you want to create when Aquelia began?
Sheila
A brand we could truly identify with. Water was at the heart of the idea, and we also cared about how Aquelia would feel: we wanted it to convey calm, clarity and trust from the very first encounter.
Silvia
And to reflect something of us. That combination of sensitivity and strength, of caring about every detail while thinking about a project that could grow. That is where the identity began to take shape.
Aquelia has a distinctive sound. What did you find in that name?
Silvia
Softness and character. It felt elegant, feminine and easy to remember. Saying it, we felt a connection to water and the calm we were looking for. It had a personality we could recognize as our own.
The drop sits above the lotus. What does that symbol say?
Sheila
The drop places water at the heart of our identity: it is the beginning of Aquelia and of what we want to develop. The lotus expresses purity, renewal and growth. Both carry equal importance. The drop above the flower brings together our starting point and the way we want to grow; together, they tell the story of the brand.
Blue and aquamarine are central to the identity. What did you want them to express?
Silvia
Blue suggests trust and security to us. Aquamarine brings freshness and an immediate connection to water. We were looking for balance: a luminous, clean and calm identity, with enough presence to build a recognizable brand.
What does ‘Water for a better you’ mean to you?
Sheila
It expresses the intention behind the project: to pay attention to something as everyday and important as water. We are beginning with water systems because that is where we want to develop the business. The phrase expresses an aspiration for wellbeing and care; each system will need clear information about what it does and how it is used.
What role will partners play in Aquelia’s growth?
Silvia
We want to build the relationship around what each side knows best. At Aquelia, we design our water systems and develop them with manufacturing partners. Our technology is the starting point for that collaboration. Partners bring knowledge of their territory, commercial relationships and local distribution.
Sheila
For us, a good beginning means listening to each other and clearly defining the product, responsibilities and terms. That conversation is the foundation we want to grow from.
Looking ahead, what would you like Aquelia to represent?
Silvia
Water, trust and a brand that keeps its essence as it grows. Today we are starting with water systems. Over time, we want to explore new possibilities that make sense within that identity.
Sheila
I would like people to recognize the care we put in from the beginning: in the name, the colors, the way we present the project and the relationships we build. For Aquelia to go far and still feel like ours.
